Equal pay for equal work continues to challenge workers across the globe, with women earning 23 cents less, on average than their male counterparts in similar jobs. This disparity, after decades of advocacy, continues to affect the livelihood of women in the workforce. UN efforts to protect and uphold human rights against all forms of discrimination, including discrimination against women and girls in the workforce, is worthy of noting on this day and every day. We can do better through purposeful wage analysis and consistent, non-discriminatory hiring practices.
